Section 01

Buying

How does buyer protection work?
Your payment is held securely by Second Stride until you confirm delivery. If the item doesn't arrive or doesn't match the description, you can open a dispute within 48 hours of delivery and we'll review it.
How do I pay?
We accept all major credit and debit cards via Stripe. Payment is processed securely — we never see your card details.
Can I make an offer?
Yes. Click "Make an offer" on any listing. Offers must be at least 40% of the asking price. The seller has 48 hours to accept, decline, or counter.
What if I receive the wrong item or a damaged item?
Open a dispute from your order page within 48 hours of delivery. Upload photos as evidence. Our team will review and resolve it — typically within 72 hours.
When do I get a refund?
If your dispute is resolved in your favour, the refund is processed immediately via Stripe. It typically takes 5–10 business days to appear on your statement.

Section 02

Selling

How do I start selling?
Create an account, complete your profile, and connect your bank account via Stripe Connect. Then click "+ Sell" to create your first listing.
What are the fees?
Sellers pay 1.75% + €0.60 of the item price. Buyers pay a separate service fee (3% + €0.75). There are no listing fees or monthly subscriptions.
How do I get paid?
After the buyer confirms delivery (or after the protection period ends), your payout is automatically sent to your bank account via Stripe. It arrives within 2–7 business days.
What if the buyer opens a dispute?
You'll be notified by email. Respond promptly with your side of the story. Our team reviews disputes and makes a fair decision based on evidence from both parties.
Can I boost my listing?
If the admin has enabled the boost feature, you'll see a "Boost" button on your listing. Boosting pushes your listing to the top of browse results by updating its sort position. There is a cooldown (24 hours) before you can boost the same listing again.

Section 03

Shipping

How does shipping work?
When a buyer purchases your item, you generate a pre-paid shipping label from your dashboard. Print it, attach it to the package, and drop it off at the carrier's location.
Which carriers are available?
We work with major European carriers including DPD, GLS, bpost, PostNL, Colissimo, and more. Available carriers depend on the origin and destination countries.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping costs are calculated based on package weight, origin, and destination. The buyer sees exact prices at checkout and chooses their preferred option.
Can I ship internationally?
Yes. Second Stride supports cross-border shipping across 20 European countries. Customs declarations are handled automatically for non-EU shipments.
What about pickup points?
Many carriers offer pickup point delivery. If selected by the buyer, they choose a convenient pickup location at checkout.

Section 04

Payments & security

Is my payment secure?
All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. We never store your card details.
Why do I need to connect Stripe?
To receive payouts as a seller, you need a Stripe Connect account. This ensures secure, direct bank transfers. Setup takes about 2 minutes.
What is the service fee?
Buyers pay a service fee of 3% + €0.75 on each purchase. This covers payment processing, buyer protection, and platform operations. Sellers pay 1.75% + €0.60 of the item price.
Can I get insurance?
Yes — at checkout, buyers can add shipping insurance for 1% of the item value (minimum €1.50). This covers the full item value if lost or damaged in transit.

Section 05

Account & privacy

How do I delete my account?
Go to Dashboard → Settings → Danger Zone → Delete account. Your personal data will be anonymised in accordance with GDPR. Order history is retained for legal/accounting purposes.
How is my data protected?
We comply with GDPR and the EU Digital Services Act. Read our Privacy Policy for full details on data collection, processing, and your rights.
I forgot my password
Click "Sign in" then "Forgot password" on the Clerk login page. You'll receive a reset link by email.
What is a business account?
If you sell as a business (company/freelancer), switch to a business account in Settings. This enables VAT invoicing, reverse charge for B2B transactions, and shows a "Professional Seller" badge.
